Dean Answers Questions About Dating Services

Daniel asks…

Professional match making /dating services in Florida pan handle?

Does anyone know any good professional match making or dating services in the Florida/ Alabama pan handle?

My work doesn’t permit me the time to go to bars nearly as much as before, and I’ve come to find bars to be a waste of time and money mostly (regardless of how many numbers I get and acquaintances I make). Online dating is a joke for men. I’m not looking for hook-ups, but actual professional match making services (like paying an agent to match me up with someone).

Dean answers:

I would say that there is no good professional match making or dating services in the Florida/ Alabama pan handle since all of these services are spams…

Good luck!

Thomas asks…

What are some relatively safe online dating services that don’t spread your info around the web?

Cause where I live it’s hard to meet other bisexual guys because coming out around here would be like suicide. Supposedly okcupid does post your stuffon the net, at least that’s what I heard.

Dean answers:

I’m not sure what you mean by “spread your info around”…okcupid is a free site on the internet, that anyone can join, and thus anyone can view your profile…that’s the idea of all dating sites (for people to see you, and see if they are interested)…

Odd that a bisexual guy would choose a female avatar…are you bisexual, transgender, or another one of those accts that is copy/pasting questions from several years ago??? (the latter is my guess)

David asks…

Every time I turn on my computer, I see “ads” for dating services, Yahoo Personals and others. It has become?

troublesome. How can I get those things removed? Four years ago I was on e-harmony and found a wife. I have no interest in that sort of thing now. How can I get those dating services ads stopped?

Dean answers:

A couple of weeks ago when Yahoo had technical problems and accidently placed a script in the box on the YA pages instead of the flash ads normally displayed, I found out that adyield-manager is used to place personalized ads. Adyield manager uses cookies to track your browsing habits, so you may get a different ad displayed than somebody sitting right next to you! That prompted me to look for solutions since I don’t like to get spied upon, and I found several good solutions!

Download and install the latest Firefox browser:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Also install “adblock plus”:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Result: no more annoying ads! And pages are loading much quicker too…:-)

http://www.admuncher.com/ – this adblocker for the IE (and other browsers) gets highly recommended in several forums.

Http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26171/safari-adblock – for Safari Mac
http://opindian.com/blog/2009/02/25/adblock-solution-for-safari-4-windows-and-mac/ – another solution for Safari 4 Win and Mac.

I personally have the Firefox installed and don’t even see anymore ads on the YA pages…:-)

Donald asks…

How do you feel about using on-line dating services?

Lava Life… Plenty Of Fish…. Ya we have all tried them. What is your opinion on them? Have you ever met anyone in real life on there and how did it work out? Or is the whole thing just desperate?

Dean answers:

Some how I feel like it’s nothing wrong with it. But on the other hand, I would feel so ashamed. Like say for instance down the line someone asked how you met, would you feel comfortable saying online.

Paul asks…

Does anyone have positive/negative Feedback on local dating services who arrange dates for you?

Also how much on average do they cost?
I’m 23, am I too young for the average clients?

Dean answers:

I don’t love local dating services. Sometimes they run for money. My GF is met through online dating.

George asks…

Is there still any old-fashioned dating services in Sydney?

By that I mean the kind where you walk in the door, put all your details on paper and pay a set sum of money to get a certain amount of introductions during whatever timeframe you choose. All this online dating has done absolutely nothing for me and I had more luck with the old system.

Dean answers:

Not sure. But Just think online dating really provides more choices compared with trational dating. One of my friends got her love through online dating. Then she highly suggested me to use online dating to find that one for me. On the dating site I’m using, I found many Australian singles, however, I didn’t care if there are some from sydney.
