Are my reasons for not letting my girlfriend speak to her ex good enough?
Okay we have been dating for almost 5 months and we are having a rough patch, everytime his name is mentioned i get cut and we fight because i dont want her talking to or seeing him, because hes constantly trying to get on the scene and they dated for 4 months and were good friends before that.
My reasons are that he was always an idiot to me and lying to my girlfriend before we dated saying i was just trying to get into her pants. Which was obviously not true because ive been with her this long and waited quite awhile.
But anyway, other than that, he kept saying that he was going to bash my head in for months, i confronted him, nothing happened.
He texts my girlfriends lyrics to songs saying she shouldnt have dumped him etc.
She went to her bestfriends party, he was there, she had been drinking, he knew she was my girlfriend and he tried to kiss her quite a few times, JUST TO GET AT ME so he says, but how many times will he try that?
I have full trust for her, but none for him, she always says i dont understand and its not fair, and i always to try explain it hypothetically and her reason is that its still not the real thing.
Am i doing something wrong by keeping her from talking to him? After all he keeps trying to get back to her by sending her messages, he fakes to be girlfriends with people she hates just to get at her, he uses her friends against her.
She still wants to be friends with him, but says she wont for me because it makes us fight. I don’t see myself ever changing my mind, but i do feel guilty everyday because she rubs it in at times.
So i was just asking this question to see whether or not im over reacting, or if i should stick at it. By no means do i want to end our relationship because I love her with all my heart and can see myself with her for a very very very long time.

Thanks for your input, I’ve asked her to tell him to back off, she hasn’t i don’t think.
We were both friends with her at about the same time, but i know I can’t really do that, but I don’t trust him after everything he has done and said.
Constantly saying he’s going to beat me up and all this hard ass stuff over text messages but doesn’t do a thing.
I hate the fact he tried to kiss her when she was drunk, trying to take advantage of her and the fact he cant just be her friend.
I know it’s one sided, i really do, but it’s the only thing we fight about. and i cant accept him in her life because he has been a dickhead to me for about 3 years. and i cant trust him, he can easily kiss her before she realises what happened because i do it to her all the time

One one side, I think if he’s still trying to get with her and still trying to kiss her, ect., she needs to tell him to back off, that is completely inapporiate when she’s with you.
On the other side, you can’t tell her who she can and cannot talk to, since he was a friend before you.
So… Maybe ya’ll should come to a comprimise? He learns how to behave and she gets to be friends with him without you being mad.
However, I’d be kinda skeptical about her accepting that behavior from him and then making you feel guilty about not liking it.
