I have meet a guy on a chat site, we have been chatting by messenger, text & phone. I’m falling 4 him, but there has been too many lies told. I was who I say I was, Im not that sort of person anymore. He’s excited by the fact of what I used to do. He wants me 2 go 2 da USA to meet him. He’s always busy, so I have a feeling he is lying to me also. What should I say to him so I can back off? He has told me things that I have never heard a man would say to me. This is going to crush him. What should I do?

I think that you should be completely honest with him and tell him what you’re feeling…..which is pretty much everything you explained in your question – except asking how you can back off – just tell him that you need to back off because you’re getting into something that is only going to lead to heart ache. Be strong. If you don’t believe what he tells you then go with your gut instinct and stick with that – don’t believe any further lies that he’ll say to try change your mind.

Is the rote learning method of teaching out-dated?
Today it seems kind of silly to make students learn mounds of facts and then judge their progress by testing them over these facts. You can look up any fact, date, etc on the internet which for most people is right in their pocket. Shouldn’t we change the emphasis from rote facts to teaching skills like critical thinking, communication and creativity?

Absolutely. To do this, we need to move away from multiple choice fill in the circle with a number 2 pencil testing as well. Politicians like these tests because they produce results that are easy to measure – even if what they are measuring are test-taking ability, not learning.
