.Plentyoffish.com gets lots of mention…and okcupid.com gets a fair bit also. Both are free. I’ve used the latter and it’s okay. Not tried the former.

A good matching system and a very large user-base are the two most important things to look for in a dating site. I like OKcupid because it meets both criteria, and it’s free.
If the matching system is lousy or inaccurate, you’ll never be able to narrow down the available profiles. If the user-base is small, the chances of you finding someone compatible are much lower.
