Nowadays, just about anywhere would be ok. The grocery, the post office, I met my ex in a laundromat years ago. We both used to go at the same time. If you want a party woman, go to a bar or club. But if you want a more settled woman go where they would be. The last one I met in a parking lot, she noticed my tag on my truck and said she grew up where I used to live. We talked, went out for coffee, meals, etc. So, it could be anywhere, and when you least expect it. Always be open to just talking, or strike up a conversation, the results might be just what you want.

1 – most men are at least a little sexually attracted to most women (something that is not true the other way around). So, usually, a woman approaching a man can do so in the knowledge he will already be at least a little attracted to her before she even speaks.

2 – women rarely approach men, so the novelty of it is impressive enough to get things going.

3 – as women are approached much more often than men (particularly the very attractive), men need something to make an impression very quickly in order to gain her interest from the off. Thus, the idea of the pick-up line was born.

Personally, I think lines are a bad idea – they’re fake, and as they are usually self-contained you can find yourself stuck for conversation once you’ve said it.
