Do You Know What To Say During Your First Date

Many guys arm themselves with intelligent, witty, and humorous line during their first date and still end up going home alone after. If this is something that you wish to avoid, then you might be asking yourself what you should do.

- Avoid Awkward Silences

One need not to be a philosopher in order to impress a girl through conversation. The key here is to be observant, of her , of the people around you and of your environment. There are countless things on what to say to a girl, for example:

o You can use the things that happened to both of you prior to the date.

o You can talk about the music that’s playing and ask her what her favorite music is. From this alone you can share your favorite bands, the concerts the two of you have been to and any other memorable experiences associated to such events.

o You can talk about current events, sports, your community.

- Listen to what she’s saying so you can follow it up with related comments or questions.

In my opinion, this is the most important first date conversation tip. Learn how to listen. Don’t be a chatterbox! Women like men who pay attention. This gives them a notion that they’re talking to someone who understands where they’re coming from and eventually gives them a sense of connection.

WARNING: Though being a good listener turns you into a “nice guy” the flip side is that you might not turn them on. You don’t want to be labeled as some nice guy she went out with and would like to keep for a friend, do you? So how can you prevent this? Here’s a brief overview:

a. Be touchy – find ways to touch her hands, arms, or hair.

b. Be a knight in shining armor – take control and exude power. Never use the words “maybe” if possible. Instead, a straight yes or no would be preferable.

- Keep the Topic Casual

One of the first date conversation tips that I always tell my friends is to avoid drama. Drama is something that must not be discussed during dates.

Again, keep things light and interesting. Talk about your neighbor’s dog, a funny encounter with a stranger, the day you found out your boss is gay and so on.

Warning: Keep clear of jokes with sexual innuendos unless you are 101% sure that she is totally into you.

- Know when to let the conversation die out

Do not in any way force a dead topic. This will only lead you to trying to make up for her loss of interest.

Quickly change the conversation by asking something that would make her talk. Allow her to talk while with you inserting your opinions at times.

- Keep the date short

Just because you’re feeling major sparks all around doesn’t mean you should talk all night long. The key is to keep her wanting more. By following the first date conversation tips I just gave you, a second date is an absolute certainty.
