If you want a pick up line to genuinely work, it should be one of two things:

1) It should make her laugh

Or…

2) The pick up line will make think and give a thoughtful response (“opinion” openers, where you ask the girl for her opinion on something, would be an example of these)

If your pick up line doesn’t accomplish one of those two things, there’s a good chance the girl is simply going to blow you off.

The key thing when approaching a woman is not to look like you want something from her, but rather you want to look like you’re talking to her because you’re bored and couldn’t think of anything better to do at that moment.
