How to ask a Girl Out

When people ask me for some first date advice, one of the most common questions I encounter is, “How do I ask a Girl on a Date?” I honestly think that this “mentality” is rife among the male species and is just not ideal. Cryptic is it?

Stressing over how to ask a girl out would just complicate things because:

- It’s a dead giveaway. She knows you like her, giving her an upper hand in the game.

- If she says “yes”, all the expectations, pressures and defenses are up.

- If she says “no”, then you would have to deal with the awkwardness that follows and of course the sting of rejection.

A casual or innocent invites always work for me. Everytime I get a positive response, I keep in mind some crucial points that I need to do and avoid. Let me share with you a couple of these first date advice.

Things to Avoid

No Movies and Expensive Restaurants – these activities cost you a lot of money and time but do not yield favorable results. Think of it this way, do you want to spend money on a date where you won’t be able to talk for at least 2 hours? Expensive restaurants on the other hand calls fo both of you to act in a formal fashion thus adding unwanted pressure on both of you. Movies and restos can limit both your abilities to act normally.

Shelling way too much cash on the first date might be misinterpreted as you trying to “show off”.

Don’t include your Family and Friends – This is a big no as it will do nothing to help the both of you in getting to know each other better.

What you can do on your first date.

Hang out –Do something casual and comfortable. Though many might say to bring your date to a restaurant, i think I have made myself clear that I don’t recommend going for that option. Women love casual dates as it allows them to let their hair down. Also, this gives you the opportunity to turn the tables on her and let her prove how much fun she is to talk to and hang out with.

Bring her to a small coffee shop or a lounge. Invite her to help you shop for a present for your best friend’s birthday or help you pick u good book to read.

I lean more towards daytime activities as it offers me a wider selection of activities to choose from. Plus, you get to see more things during the day which can be used as a conversation piece. Spontaneity is the name of the game!

Show Her Where You Live – Though some would say that this is too much on the first date, trust me, it works! So as not to make her think that you are up to something, just casually invite her in and say that you just need to get something. Let her check your place out as you pretend to look for something. The logic behind this approach is to get rid of the “would you like to come over to my place” line that you will surely bring up in the future if things go well between the two of you.

Be Punctual and Dress Appropriately – No explanation needed here I think.

Let her Talk More –avoid questions answerable by a yes or no. As for drama, throw it out the window. Let her be the center of the universe for the time being. Also, try to make her feel that she needs to impress you a bit.

How to End Your Date – keep the date to a minimum of 2 hours. Make certain that it is you that ends the date so as to make her feel that your time is precious. Crucial first date advice: always end the date at its peak to make her want for more.
