The use of great pick up lines in trying to get girls is something that every guy has done at least once. I’m pretty sure that you’ve heard and used quite a few of them already. But despite being old and used, why do men still use them? Do they still work?

Great pick up lines are quick fixes especially if you’re a pro when it comes to using them. The good thing is that it doesn’t not involve much brain work. If you can get away with it, why not use it right?

The problem though is, not all men understand or practice the word finesse. Most men think that pick up lines sound witty making them look intelligent and impressive. But women nowadays have gotten sick and tired of hearing the same lame lines over and over again. It sounds rehearsed and insincere.

Even if you dish out a wonderful set of flowery words, women would still see it as common and cheap. And most of the times, even great pick up lines won’t help save you from being seen as desperate and willing to do whatever it takes to get laid. In attracting a girl, you need to plan your approach.

Another way of attracting women is for you to communicate your value, confidence and authenticity. If they see you someone that they can count on once a situation arises, then the complications associated with hooking up becomes less. Women are more interested in men that would stay longer with them and not just through the night. This is the kind of impression you need to communicate to them and using great pick up lines defeat the whole purpose.

If you are wondering as to what to say to a girl, chill for a bit and observe her. What is she wearing? What kind of book is she reading? Do you like the way she ties her hair? You need to gather information so that you can come up with a good opener. For example:

“I really like that color/dress/necklace on you. I’d love to know where you bought it because I need to pick up a birthday gift for my friend Jen. I bet she’d love something like that.”

Topics about relationships are also good opening topics. For example:

“You girls look like experts…let me ask you a quick question. How long do you need to be dating a guy before you change the status on your Facebook page from “single” to “in a relationship”? Because my friend Jen has been with a guy for about a month, and his Facebook page still says “single”…and she’s not sure whether she should say something about it.”

Openers are different from pick up lines and offers a more mature approach when talking to girl. At the same time, you affirm her good taste in fashion and intelligence, making it difficult for her to refuse to talk to you.

But never follow up an opener with flirting. It must be delivered in an offhanded manner, making it sound more sincere and natural.

Dont get me wrong though, there will be times when pick up lines will work All im implying is that unless you have your macking skills dialed, then pick up lines just won’t work everytime.
